Friday was everything a Friday should be: the week ended with beautiful weather, and no problems. The zosyn and the dysreflexia are over with, and Tim got a good night's rest. Dr. P. discontinued the cardizem in the morning. Now we're just focused on the lungs.
When Pippa and I left his room at 9:00, Tim had been up in the chair for almost 11 hours, and off the ventilator for nearly 12. That was the goal for today: 12 hours off. Tomorrow and Sunday the goal will be 16, with 8 hours on a home ventilator. If that goes well, he'll come home Monday or Tuesday with the vent for nights, and continue clearing up.
Deep breath, deep sigh.
