Still, the best time of the day was from 8:00 to 10:00PM, when Tim left the bed in favor of the chair (interesting that his wheelchair is now such a symbol of ability). We had a good hairwash (I might go into hospital cosmetology; it feels so useful).
Considerable progress today in the lungs. His weekend doctor let me see Tim's chest x-rays from the last 10 days, and even to my untrained and scientifically myopic eyes, it was clear that there's now black clarity (good) where there once was white "angel hair" (bad). More info for the nurses: Temp staying reasonably down (99-100), and BP and sats normal. His pulse has been running low, and so the cardezam has been d/c since last night with no problems. Blood gases are all normal.
Today's bed rotations have not included any pronation (i.e., where he's lying on his stomach looking at the floor). Just three-hour sequences of 20 minutes on each side at a 62-degree angle.
The staff on this ICU has been fantastic, and Tim gets visits from the nurses and PCAs from his previous units (having been in four so far this stay).
And that's why he looks so pleased in these photos. Good night, all!

This ain't so bad. I've handled worse.
