Wireless Tim

Dr. Pulmonologist gave Tim two thumbs up today. He made it through the night without the vent, and then his blood gases were good (not perfect: PCO2=52, but with high bicarb). So Friday, which Tim proposed yesterday (and it's the first time he's suggested an exit target) is, Dr. P. says, "not impossible" as a discharge day.

Here's the new wireless Tim, breathing on his own, eating and drinking on his own, and unconnected to IVs or feeding tubes or monitors.

Did it. Nothin' to it. Posted by Hello

He's ready for anything...even recovery outside the hospital. Will he come home with oxygen? With a respirator? With a cuffless trach? With the vest? With a respiratory therapist? Stay tuned!

And for this good result, we're grateful for the prayers and thoughts and warmth and care symbolized in this blanket from Cindy and friends--but surrounding us, from so many friends and loved ones, throughout this whole ordeal. Thanks...and good night again.
